
About the Role
We are looking for a Psychiatrist who specializes in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mental health disorders. Their primary responsibilities include
- Evaluating and Diagnosing Patients: Assessing patients' mental and physical health to determine the underlying causes of their symptoms.
- Prescribing Medications: Using medication to treat mental health disorders, such as antidepressants, antipsychotics, and mood stabilizers.
- Conducting Psychotherapy: Providing talk therapy to patients to help them cope with their symptoms and develop coping strategies.
- Ongoing Patient Care and Evaluation: Regularly monitoring patients' progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed.
- Medication Management: Managing patients' medication regimens to ensure they are effective and safe.
- Working with Multidisciplinary Teams: Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, such as psychologists, nurses, and social workers, to provide comprehensive care.
Requirements
Must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA).
Strong commitment to patient care and collaborative practice.
